Operation School Bell^®

 

Studies show that children perform better in school when they're proud of how they look. The mission of Operation School Bell is to help build students' self-esteem and improve their school experience overall by providing them with new clothes. School counselors identify students in need, and Assistance League provides elementary school students with new winter coats, pants, sweatshirts, shirts/blouses, socks and underwear. Middle school students are given the opportunity to choose their own school clothes and shoes at select retailers with the help of Assistance League volunteers. They also receive hygiene kits.

 

Assistance League also provides sensory-specific equipment and learning devices for use in special education classrooms, as well as books for general use by all students.
