Become a Community Partner

Forging partnerships with other organizations in the Salt Lake area increases the impact of our programs. And, by expanding the sphere of organizations we work with, we can better respond to emerging needs in our community. A recent example is our collaboration with the Episcopal Diocese. Because they were very concerned about children aging out of foster care, we agreed to help through our Brighter Tomorrows program. Through vouchers, these young adults are able to "shop" at Assistance League Thrift Shop for clothing and household items to help them get established.

In collaboration with the various school districts in our area we are able to provide warm school clothes for low- to moderate-income families, promote literacy in Title I schools and fund urgent dental treatment for referred children in pain who have no other access to dental care.

We support many agencies in town such as People Helping People, Valley Mental Health, the Road Home and the YWCA through referrals of folks trying to find a job or return to school. These clients shop for clothes at Assistance League Thrift Shop and receive vouchers for new shoes at Payless ShoeSource and a haircut at Great Clips.

Many corporations have partnered with us over the years in fundraising and community service. American Express has been a vital and valued partner of Assistance League for many years, contributing both financially and through direct volunteer work. Many businesses offer to match donations to Assistance League.
