Consociates Honor Lisa Jungemann 2021 Woman of Distinction
Although it was raining outside, the room was full of cheer and sunshine inside the Cottonwood Country Club during the Karen S. Johnson Women of Distinction Luncheon on September 18, 2021. Honoring Lisa Jungemann, the theme “Grateful for You” was displayed throughout with bright decorations full of cheerful sunflowers.
Lisa’s life was changed forever when she lost her son, Matt, to suicide in 2013. Since then, Lisa has organized a team in her son’s name to participate in the “Out of Darkness” walk for the past eight years. Lisa and her team have raised over $100,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and provided two annual “Defender” scholarships to graduating seniors at Juan Diego Catholic High School.
Consociates Chair Antonia White and Chapter President Heidi Makowski welcomed the group. Other speakers included Cynthia Sulprizio, the event chair who introduced the honoree speaker; Lisa Jungemann; Kelly Casey, representative from Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, who spoke about the benefits of Baby Bundles; and Alexandra Yost from the Rape Recovery Center who discussed the need and appreciation for the Assault Survivor Kits®.
Throughout the event our Master of Ceremonies, Mary Nickles (KUTV News Anchor and Past Honoree) did an outstanding job of keeping our guests engaged with fundraising activities and our agenda running smoothly. We greatly appreciate her contributions in making our event successful.
