New School Clothes Being Delivered to Kids in Need

"The greatest impact of Operation School Bell is that our students are kept warm during the winter months. This helps with their attendance because they aren’t getting sick. Kids that receive clothes have big smiles on their faces when they receive the big blue bag."

Keeping kids warm and allowing them to "fit in" with their peers is what Operation School Bell® is all about. Volunteer-driven vans, cars and truck will soon be delivering bags filled with new clothes to schools throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Assistance League members have worked hard for weeks unpacking coats, jeans, shirts, hoodies, socks, underwear and dental care products, bagging the items for each individual child and putting them in assigned bins for delivery to the schools. Four schools will see our volunteers helping children try on their new coats and hoodies just to be sure they are the right size. Every year some 5,000 children in need are excited to receive a bag of new school clothes through this Assistance League program.
