EMI Health Volunteers Help Bag Once Again for Operation School Bell! This November, around 20 volunteers from EMI Health (formerly Educators Mutual) came in one evening after work and bagged 110 bundles of new school clothing to distribute at Monroe Elementary in theGranite School District the next day. USA Weekend recently honored National Assistance League with a $10,000 award from Newman's Own for our organizations's participation in this year's national "Make a Difference Day."  Some 113,101 books were collected by 94 Assistance League chapters, including Assistance League of Salt Lake City, and then distributed to child-based service organizations throughout their communities. As Jane Rosinski, national project coordinator stated, "This was truly a national event with local impact."

Dillard's at Fashion Place Mall held a "Handbag Trade In Event" on April 3 - 7 in support of Assistance League of Salt Lake City.. Customers were encourage to donate gently used handbags and watches in exchange for generous discounts on new handbags. The 210 donated handbags and 12 watches were sold at Assistance League Thrift Store in a special sale, with proceeds going to support Assistance League's seven philanthropic programs. Your unused clothing and other items can help you at tax time.  Assistance League of Salt Lake City is a charitable, 501(c) (3) organization so donations to our thrift shop can be used as a deduction on your taxes.  We will be happy to give you a receipt for the items you donate.  Your donations go to support our philanthropic programs that help thousands of people in our community.  So, clean your closets and help people in need at the same time!
