Taste of Tsunami Fun(-d Raiser)

Endless selections of Asian flavors, along with great conversation and laughter, were in supply at “A Taste of Tsunami” fundraiser that benefited Assistance League of Salt Lake City, Wednesday April 21 at the Tsunami River Front Parkway location in South Jordan.

For two hours guests were able to sample some of the finest Asian-inspired cuisine in Salt Lake City. Popular, tempting sushi rolls, award-winning baby back ribs with jalapeno teriyaki sauce, pot stickers, tempura battered jalapeno poppers, crab stuffed wonton, chicken satay, beef teriyaki sticks and shrimp were just part of the selection.

Our thanks to owners Scott Coulter and Kris Bodeen who generously offered to underwrite the evening, returning the $50 per person ticket cost to our chapter.

Easter Baskets & Assisteens – 3/16/2010

On March 16th the Assisteens of Salt Lake City gathered to assemble one hundred and fifty Easter Baskets for the YWCA. They included: crayons, coloring book, tooth brush, tooth paste, bubbles, jump rope, candy, and a cuddly, stuffed animal, wrapped in cellophane and tied with bright,spring-colored ribbon . We had a great turn out with many of the existing Assisteens and several new, potential members. Delicious shamrock cookies were served and everyone enjoyed the experience, knowing this will bring Easter smiles to children in need in our community.
