Mary Mark and Marsha Harmon Honored as Consociates 2010 Women of Distinction

On Saturday, May 1, 2010, Mary Mark and Marsha Harmon were honored for their community work throughout the Salt Lake Valley at the 17th Annual Consociates Auxiliary Women of Distinction Luncheon and Fundraiser, held at Hidden Valley Country Club.

Over 150 guests applauded Mary Mark for her work as an entrepreneur and for her community involvement. During the hard economic times, at her own litigation support business Mary maintained payroll by arranging and requiring the employees to work with local nonprofit organizations. She also founded the “Canvas & Gavel Art Show” where artwork is donated and then the proceeds from the event support numerous organizations.

Next the guests heard from Marsha Harmon who was honored for her work in creating and managing a successful wellness program for seniors. Many of Marsha’s students came to the luncheon, even Marsha’s 90+ years young student attended! All Marsha’s students say her classes are more than just exercise.

Consociates Chairman Julie Pratt and Luncheon Chairman Stephanie Ward presented both women with an engraved keepsake commemorating the event.

Consociate members pay annual dues and attend regular and work meetings. No minimum service hours are required. Consociates sponsors one major fundraising event each year, the Women of Distinction Luncheon, honoring Utah women who have contributed to their community in some distinctive way.
