At a luncheon held May 23, 2007, honoring community service leaders, Assistance League of Salt Lake City was one of four organizations recognized for their work in the Salt Lake community.
Describing Assistance League as “a great blessing to the community.” Merrill J. Bateman, the Presidency of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said: “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints appreciates the significant role you and your organization play in meeting the basic and special needs of those within the Salt Lake area. You, as dedicated leaders, are providing hope and care through your service. …On behalf of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I thank you for your tireless efforts to provide services to those in need. You are truly making a difference, and the positive effect of your service enriches the lives of many living in the area.”
Other organizations recognized included Utah Youth Village, Neighborhood House, and Junior League.
