“Each year during the graduation ceremony Horizonte Instruction and Training Center awards two Community Service Awards, one to an individual who is making a difference in our community and one to an organization that is making a difference in our community,” noted James Andersen, Principal. This year Assistance League of Salt Lake City has been chosen by the school council to receive the organizational award which will be presented Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10 am. The award is based on Assistance League’s 30-years’ work clothing needy children in the Salt Lake Valley, recognizing Horizonte students with backpacks and other supplies and providing ongoing support for students preparing for and taking the GED exam.
